Weekend Fun...

We spent the weekend with my dad. It was fun and relaxing and I'm so glad we went (I always am).

We really didn't do much except eat. Seriously, the minute I step foot in my dad's house I want to eat. I'm never hungry while I'm there (because I snack and eat so much) but I ate so much that I felt like I needed to detox when I got home. Ha! I haven't even stepped on the scale this week and I don't plan to either.

Saturday we went to our favorite place for lunch.... The Back Forty. Mmmmmm. World's best burgers, hands down! That was the only time I got the camera out so I'll share some pictures from our lunch - we had some friends meet us and it was a great time!

It was a fun weekend and now we are all back to normal at home. I'm so thankful that my dad is so good to us and that he has such a special relationship with my girls. He loves them like crazy and it is precious.

Well, there you go. I'm all caught up with what we've been up to. I have canvases hanging out that need to be worked on tonight so I'm cutting this post short :)

Oh my....

We have been a busy bunch of bees lately and I'm SO BEHIND on blogging. I haven't been reading or composing or commenting. But we have been having lots o' fun, so I don't mind being behind. In fact, right now I'm typing on the laptop, in the playroom, on the floor, with a baby sitting in my lap... so don't expect much of a post!

I have no pictures to add, sorry.

The girls and I spontaneously decided to spend last week with my dad. It was wonderful and I will take the time to post much more detailed posts of that week asap! We got to visit some family and some old friends that I haven't seen in FOREVER! It was a great time.

I've been asked to make some shower invitations and a party banner for some people. I managed to get the invitations in the mail today! I plan on finishing the banner tonight so that I can open up my week for some future projects that I hope to be working on. :) As soon as I'm finished with the projects, I'll have some free time to get caught up on the blog.

And a final thought for today.... Is anyone else ready for Fall? It is a cool 100+ degrees here and while I love sweating as much as anyone else (ha!), I'm ready for a cool down! To make my longing for Fall worse, my sister and I did a little shopping last week and I picked up a few things for the girls for the Fall. Now I'm ready to do some serious Fall shopping (within a strict budget) and get them all set for the cooler weather.

Looks like the girls need a customer for their kitchen, so its time for me to "eat" some play food. Hope you all have a great Monday.

Where Have I Been?

Well.... what started out as a week-long trip for the girls and I to visit my dad ended up lasting a little over three weeks! Yikes! Things just kept coming up with Jared's work and it seemed to make more sense for us to just stay with dad then come home. Boy, did we have fun at Pappy's house! We got home Saturday afternoon just in time to clean up the house and yard for the annual crawfish boil and fish fry our family has. We started partying Sunday afternoon and it was a blast! I took some pictures of the girls playing with the crawfish (I never thought my kids would do that, but they sure did when I wasn't looking!) but the pictures didn't turn out because of some crazy lighting. I did, however, get one good picture of Laila after she ate the red ice cream cup that Belinda gave the kids..... can we say Bozo the Clown?! 

It has been a crazy month and apparently that isn't going to change anytime soon. J is still having crazy work schedules and we have birthdays and reunions and holidays all coming up. I'm looking forward to all of it but it is a crazy time!!

Busy, Fun Weekend!

We decided to have a garage sale Saturday morning. So the hubby and I were up by 5 getting signs out and things ready. We had fun... the girls got to sit outside and eat their breakfast and snuggle up in warm blankets with their Daddy and Mommy. We got rid of a little of our stuff, but we still have A LOT left. Now we are trying to decide what to do with all of it.

Saturday night we had dinner out at one of my husband's favorite restaurants. He had a good week at work so we were kind of celebrating (kind of). My girls love eating there as well!

Then yesterday we woke up and decided not to go to church since my Little Doll has a bit of a cold and there is no reason to get anyone else sick. So Daddy and the girls watched movies and napped and Momma cleaned the house :)

My dad (Pappy) came to town yesterday so we got to have lunch with him.... always fun! After lunch we went to look for a new pocketknife. Pappy flew to my sister's last weekend and forgot to leave his pocketknife in his truck and the airport security took it! So now he needs a new one - unfortunately, we didn't see the one he wanted.

After that, my Crazy Girl requested a trip to Sam's - she LOVES that place! So we stopped by Sam's and ended up spending nearly and hour and a half in there. Most of the time was spent with P running around and L crying for Pappy to hold her. Those two girls love their Pappy so much - seriously, it is adorable. When he is with us he always wants to ride in the very back of our Tahoe so he can be close to the girls (who are in the middle row). Well L cried every time he got out of the car on P's side and refused to let anyone else hold her or get her out of her seat. It was hilarious to me.... they truly enjoy their time with Pappy. It just doesn't happen enough since he lives 3 hours away :(

Pappy ended up staying a few hours longer than he had planned, which was fine with us! It is hard for him to leave his girls!

We ended the weekend with a trip to Wal-Mart for some groceries. And after dinner we put L to bed and let P stay up with us for a little while.... this is something we've been doing for a few months as she is getting older. Daddy, Momma and P pile into our bed and watch tv.... usually Hannah Montana or whatever is on Disney Channel. :)

After we put P to bed, the hubby and I were talking about how different our lives would be if we didn't have kids. We joked that we'd have an amazing house, fabulous cars, season tickets to for Razorback football, go on sweet vacations and all that fun stuff. We joked about how crazy and different things would be... then we both stopped and looked at each other and at the same time said - "I wouldn't trade this for any of that." We love our life.... our evenings of Hannah Montana and Jonas episodes..... eating breakfast at 6:30am when our kids wake up..... watching TinkerBell over and over.... having very few minutes to ourselves..... sleepless nights.... all of it. We love it all and nothing we could have ever dreamed up would be as good as what we have now.

It was a great weekend from beginning to end. Hope yours was too! And I hope we all have a wonderful week ahead :)

Ok... I think things have settled down...

enough for me to get back to my blog. Yikes, it has been a crazy couple of weeks!! Last week we welcomed my sweet new niece, A, into our big ol' family! And the good news is she and Mommy are scheduled to go home today! Woo Hoo!!!

We are loving Fall, except for the rain - yucko! And we are taking some time to enjoy this wonderful season!

Don't you just love Fall clothes!!! Seriously, I love picking out my girls' clothes each morning!

We also spent the weekend with Pappy last weekend.... it was wonderful, as always. We ate well - I'm sure I gained 3 pounds in the two days we were there (seriously, I weighed myself). We played and watched some good movies. And we rode Sugar, Pappy's horse!

L loved playing on the fence... and so did P!

P is so big and she loves, LOVES to ride Sugar. She's a natural too! It blows my mind! She was telling Sugar to "Whoa, Sugar" and "Be easy Sugar". It was too cute!

And L got to ride for the first time.... she wasn't too sure at first. So Pappy took her around the circle. And she LOVED it! {Speaking of Pappy... isn't my dad just too cute?!} I think we have another natural horse-rider on our hands! And before we knew it, this is what was going on....

Yep, that's my 16 month old baby riding Sugar all by herself (with Pappy leading her around and keeping a hand near her in case she started to fall)! I couldn't believe it!!!! And I'm so proud of her!

And most importantly, I've been spending some time with these people... the ones who make my days brighter and give me a reason to get up every morning.... the ones who make everything I do worth it....

Can I just say that my kids have a wonderful dad... he's the best! He loves his girls so much and they LOVE him!!!! It is so special. And he is the best husband - I love you J!

We had a house guest last night but I'll post pictures of that later. We should have a pretty normal rest of the week so I'll have more time to post. I've also been busy with some gifts and orders from my "craft" blog.... check it out! I'm having the best time with it.... even though all of my orders have been for family! :)

Am I Crazy???

This morning we went and signed my Little Girl up for Mother's Day Out. She calls it "school" because she knows so many people who go to school and she wants to go so badly. So to us, MDO is School.

I know this is probably crazy (and I like to think I'm not normally a Crazy Mom) but I feel like she is really going to school. This is a new phase for us and I've been really emotional about it. My emotions range from excitement to sadness. Am I crazy? I mean, it is only MDO. It's actually supposed to be for me, right??? Mother's Day Out? :) I haven't cried so far, but I just feel like she is too little to be going to "school". She's my BABY! I'm sure the tears will come soon...

But my girl is so excited and her excitement is very contagious. We walked in to turn in our registration and we got to go see her classroom. We got to see the little bathroom with the teeny tiny potties. We saw all the toys and the playground. She loved it all and wanted to stay and play. :) She's going to be great and enjoy "school" so much. This just makes me feel like REAL school is so close. Lord, let me enjoy every moment of these next few years because I know they will go by so quickly.

Ok, now onto something less emotional... :) I haven't been good about posting pictures lately but I am trying to get better. Last week my dad came to visit for the day. He had a test to take here for work (he passed... Go Dad!). So after the test we all had lunch together and then he wanted to take the girls to Wal-Mart to get some treats. He loves them so much and he loves to take them to the store and let them pick whatever treats they want. He left soon after we got home from WM so I got all the goodies out of the bag to see what we had made it home with.

Does Pappy spoil his girls.... I think so! We are so lucky to have him! Love you Dad/Pappy!!!
